Today we’re checking out Lone Tree, Colorado!
Lone Tree is a VERY complete suburb, with diverse housing stock, great suburban amenities, and beautiful outdoor spaces. If you're looking for a suburb out of the hustle and bustle, but still with access to light rail, and a tolerable commute, Lone Tree could absolutely be a spot to consider!
Let’s go!
Lone Tree Vibes
With a motto of “It’s a Great Day to be in Lone Tree”, we’d have to agree! A complete suburb located about 30 minutes south of downtown Denver with a population around 13,000 residents and has grown about 30% since 2010. Ranked the 5th best suburb for young professionals and the 10th best overall suburb to live, in Colorado*, we can see why it’s growing.
Served by the Douglas County School District, most of the schools are rated an A. So, you would have very good school options living anywhere in Lone Tree.
Home Price Statistics With so much going for it, it might make sense the home prices are slightly higher than the Denver metro median. Lone Tree’s median sale price comes in around $750k. Currently on the market, the barrier for entry into a single-family home is going to be around $688k. Homes can go up for over $2 million. In terms of condos/townhomes, on the low end currently on the market, you’re looking at around $430k, and up to around $760k on the high end.
Somewhat surprising is the percentage of residents owning vs renting. Around 60% of residents own and around 40% rent. Feels more like an 80/20 ratio though.
